What is Myofascial Release Therapy?

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a gentle, hands-on approach that works with the body’s connective tissue - called fascia - to relieve pain, improve movement, and support overall well-being. Unlike traditional massage, which often focuses on muscles using rhythmic or deeper pressure,

MFR uses slow, sustained techniques that allow the tissue to soften over time. This slower pace gives the nervous system a chance to settle, helping the body shift out of a constant “on edge” state and into one that’s calmer and more regulated.

Fascia is a web-like tissue that surrounds and supports every muscle, joint, nerve, and organ. When it’s healthy, it’s flexible and allows the body to move freely. But injury, repetitive strain, or ongoing stress - both physical and emotional - can cause it to tighten and lose that ease.

These restrictions can lead to pain, stiffness, and limited movement, often showing up in places that don’t seem directly connected. By gently working with both the tissue and the nervous system, MFR helps the body release these patterns and restore a greater sense of ease.
